How to learn new things without doing a tutorial.

I found that most tutorials are useless, so I started to learn by making my own projects. And by doing that I learn not only faster, by combining several technologies, but also better than standard tutorials. So I will talk about the challenges that arise when learning in this way, and how to overcome them.
